Welcome to COBA (Charity Organization of Bangladeshi Arizonans)
COBA (Charity Organization of Bangladeshi Arizonans) is a non-profit charity organization approved by the State of Arizona. It has 501(C)(3) tax exemption status granted by the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) with an EIN of 33-1173990.

AZ DOR (Department of Revenue) approved COBA as a QCO (Qualifying Charity Organization), which allows donors to donate up to $470 (single)/$938(married) with $ for $ AZ Tax Credit for the tax year 2024. All donations from Tax Credit will be utilized for local AZ programs.

Our Charter
The Organization is formed by people of Bangladesh heritage living in the USA, particularly in Arizona. Objectives of this organization are:
a. provide financial assistance to the underprivileged people of Bangladesh in the areas of basic education, social and health services on a long term basis
b. provide assistance (shelter, food) to the needy people, living in the County of Maricopa, Arizona
c. provide support for local community activities and voluntary services like Habitat for Humanity, Citrus Gleaning, Food Cup etc.
d. provide relief assistance to people of any national heritage, in case of extraordinary emergencies, wherever they may be

Supported Projects

Food Distribution: Food packs provided during periods of calamity with local volunteers in 4 cities of Bangladesh (Chattogram, Dhaka, Moulvibazar and Rangpur).

For local (AZ) community support, COBA has been distributing dry food in Chandler ICEV Facility. COBA also provides cash assistance to needy families during Ramadan and at the year-end. Future plans include participation in local activities like Back to School, Project CURE, Habitat for Humanity, Food Bank etc.

COBA supports the following programs in Bangladesh.

PROJECT #1: Orphanage, Chattogram: provides shelter, food, health services and education to 25 abandoned girls aged 6-14. Monthly operation cost is about $1000.

PROJECT #2: Eye Clinic, Rangpur/Sylhet: Doctors provide basic eye screening and cataract surgery and implant new lenses to restore eyesight for presumably fully blind people.

PROJECT #3: Feeding pre-school, Dhamrai, Dhaka: Provides primary/secondary education, meals during school hours  to ~20-40 special need children.

PROJECT #4: Winter clothes/blanket distribution:  Will distribute winter clothes/blankets in colder areas in Bangladesh (like Rangpur, Sylhet, Chattogram Hill Tracts)

PROJECT #5: Misc.  supports: Education, medical support, self sustenance of families etc.
